A Saints fan has been banned from attending games for three years after he launched a bottle of Sprite towards rival supporters at St Mary’s.
Albie Joyce, 28, was in block three of the Northam Stand at St Mary’s when he launched the object towards Coventry fans.
The incident took place on April 9, 2024, during Southampton FC’s Championship match with the Sky Blues.
Prosecutor, Kate Moore said Saints had just scored a goal when Joyce decided to throw the fizzy drink.

He was identified by a nearby police officer and later pleaded guilty to throwing a missile at a spectator area.
Ms Moore added that this was a “deliberate action”.
But representing himself, Joyce said: “I don’t remember, I must have been drunk.
“I clearly did it so I am going to go guilty. I hold my hands up.
“I just want to get it over and done with.”
Joyce, who previously worked as a labourer, was given an £80 fine and a three-year football banning order.
He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £32 surcharge.
A collection order was made by the court.
Saints went on to win the game 2-1 with Che Adams scoring a brace and Jake Bidwell getting one back for the away team in the 68th minute.
