HAMPSHIRE golfer Scott Gregory has won the annual New South Wales Amateur Golf Championship.
The Corhampton star won a high-quality final against fellow Englishman Marco Penge.
He the British Amateur champion soon took a four-hole lead as Penge endured a torrid start.
But Penge fought his way back into the contest during the back nine.
It was all square after the par-three 12th hole and remained that way until the 17th.
Penge drove into a fairway bunker before missing his par putt, but Gregory held his nerve before clinching victory by just one hole.
The 22 year-old said: "It was a real battle. Marco and I traded shots all day.
"Obviously, I had a bit of a wobble in the middle of the second round, but I holed a couple of crucial putts in the end."
