Commercial laundry solution provider, WASHCO, is aiming to raise substantial funds to back the charity Young Lives vs Cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer, formerly known as CLIC Sargent Cancer Care for Children, supports young cancer patients up to 25 years and their families by providing financial assistance, daily care, accommodation and social support.

WASHCO has pledged to donate 1p for each cycle completed by their WASHPOINT washing machines in UK universities.

The donations can be made via text or QR code at university launderettes with WASHPOINT machines.

WASHCO also plans to participate in the Chiltern 50 Challenge, a charity event composed of rigorous trek and trail runs, which will take place on September 28, 2024.

WASHCO’s Managing Director, Peter Hosking, said: "We are delighted to support Young Lives vs Cancer as our chosen charity for this year and help make a difference.

"Having had the privilege of visiting Jean’s Home, their Home from Home facility in Southampton, we witnessed first-hand the amazing impact they have on the families they support. We look forward to helping this incredible charity continue their hard work."

Dominique Davis, Director of Income Generation, Young Lives vs Cancer said: "We are thrilled to be WASHCO’s new charity partner and are looking forward to working closely together to help support thousands of children and young people affected by cancer.

"Today, 12 more children and young people in the UK will hear the devastating news that they have cancer and the impact on their lives is far more than medical. With WASHCO’s support we will be working to make sure they get the right care and support at the right time."
