The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

FRANK WARD, 31, of Huntingdon Road, Crowborough pleaded guilty to a single count of failing to comply with a lane closure signal on the M27 between junctions ten and nine at Fareham. he was fined £250 and received three points on his licence. Ward must also pay £85 court costs and a £100 surcharge. 

DAWID KOZIEJ, 30, of Beechmount Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a controlled drug of Class B (cannabis and amphetamine), as well as a single count of possessing a controlled drug of Class A, namely cocaine. He also admitted to possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. This related to a knuckle duster he had with him at Horseshoe Bridge. Koziej received a one-year community order with 80 hours of unpaid work. He must pay £85 court costs and a £95 surcharge. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs and knuckle duster. 

TERENCE MILLER, 41, of Hyde Gate, Winchester admitted to theft from a shop after he stole £140 worth of Estee Lauder cosmetics from John Lewis in Southampton. Miller was fined £50.

MARK MCDERMOTT, 59, of Portswood Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a controlled drug of Class A, namely cocaine and heroin in Southampton. He was fined £120 and must pay £85 court costs plus a £48 surcharge. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs. 

NAOMI TUSON, 45, of Victoria Road, Southampton admitted to theft after she stole meat items worth £76.40 from Co-Op in Woolston. Tuson received a six-month conditional discharge and must pay £76.40 in compensation. 

GARETH COX, 39, of Shearer Road, Fratton pleaded guilty to driving without insurance in a Volkswagen Touran on Dorset Street, Southampton. He was banned from driving for six months and fined £440. Cox must also pay £110 court costs and a £176 surcharge.
