THE Alresford District Partnership has voted to disband because of lack of interest.

It formed around the turn of the millennium in 1999/2000 to bring together the numerous groups, clubs and people in the town to discuss local issues.

It once attracted 50 people a meeting but only eight or nine people were at the AGM, including several elected councillors, and no members of the public.

Chairman Ken Yeldham said: “It is disappointing but there has not been much support in recent years. The local politicians got into it and the public interest declined. We will have a final meeting to formally close it down. It is a pity as it has been a good forum.”

You can't have it both ways, complaining when local Cllrs don't get involved then complaining when they do.
