12:20pm Monday 30th September 2013 in News
A HAMPSHIRE man who drove while drunk near his home has been banned from driving for two years.
Oliver Durrant, 23, of Popham, Micheldever, admitted driving with excess alcohol on Basingstoke Road, Micheldever, on September 7, Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court heard.
His reading was 107 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, three times the legal limit.
Magistrates imposed a community order for 100 hours unpaid work, imposed the 24-month disqualification and told him to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
The ban will be cut by 183 days if Durrant completes a driving course.
