School walk safety fears
3:10pm Thursday 3rd October 2013 in News
A STUDY has found that one in five children aged seven to 14 are put off walking to school because there isn’t always a safe place for them to cross the road.
The research carried out by Living Streets has been published to mark International Walk to School Month, which starts this week.
The organisation is concerned that a lack of safe crossing points is one of the foremost deterrents for children and their parents, and is encouraging children to write to their local MP to highlight any concerns they have about their walk to school.
