THREE trees could be removed from a Southampton park as part of a major roadworks project.
Platform Road is currently being widened into a dual carriageway and the city council wants to remove trees from Mayflower Park.
The work has led to traffic chaos affecting thousands of motorists in the city centre over the past four months.
The city council’s planning panel will meet on February 18 to discuss the plans.
If they are approved, six new trees would be planted to replace them.
