ARMED forces personnel and veterans in Hampshire will soon be able to drop into a new advice centre.
The Royal British Legion has won permission to create a new centre in the heart of Southampton, and it could now be open by the end of the year.
The charity, which has represented the UK’s veterans and armed force staff since 1921, is planning to open 16 centres across the country.
The first was opened in Liverpool by the Minister of State for Armed Forces, Mark Francois, in December.
They will offer help and advice, and also give the public a chance to learn more about the legion’s activities.
Southampton City Council’s planning panel approved the plans for the new centre in Above Bar at a meeting yesterday.
