Police are hunting a couple who targeted an elderly Hampshire woman stealing cash from her handbag.

Police have issued CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to following the distraction theft in Andover.

The incident occurred between 1.30pm and 2pm on Friday, February 14 at Halifax Building Society on the High Street.

An 83-year-old woman had withdrawn a sum of cash and was then distracted while the money was stolen from her bag.

PC Philip Covey from Andover police station said: "We would like to speak to the man and woman in the CCTV images as we believe they may be able to assist with our investigation.

Daily Echo:

"The woman we would like to speak to is described as having an Eastern European accent, approximately 5ft 6 tall, slim build and of Asian appearance. She was wearing dark clothing and a white woollen hat.

"The man has also been described as Asian appearance and was medium to stocky build. He was wearing a maroon v neck jumper."
