A WOMAN killed by a train at Crampmoor, near Romsey, has been named.

She was 54-year-old Julie Richardson, who lived in Romsey.

An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned by Central Hampshire coroner Grahame Short. Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

British Transport Police say she was struck by the 10.07am South West Trains Romsey to Salisbury service on Tuesday, February 18.

The incident happened at the unmanned Crampmoor Lane level crossing and train services were suspended for nearly two hours while British Transport Police investigated the incident.
