A CONTROVERSIAL scheme to build nine affordable homes at Braishfield will be debated by Test Valley councillors next week.

The proposals include four one-bedroom and five two-bedroom homes near The Wheatsheaf pub in Braishfield Road.

The site is currently grazing land and the planning application has been submitted by Christopher Buchan-Hepburn.

However, Braishfield Parish Council, Romsey and District Society and 35 individuals have objected to the plans – some claiming there is no need for the development because more than 300 affordable homes are being built at nearby Abbotswood. The plan will be debated on Tuesday.
