A MAJOR Hampshire road has reopened after closing for several weeks because of flooding.

The A272 at Bramdean was shut at The Fox because the road was under several inches of water and bow waves from vehicles were swamping nearby homes.

The road reopened on Thursday although only on one carriageway with traffic lights controlling the flow.

The closure of one of Hampshire’s major routes caused huge disruption for commercial vehicles.

And a residents’ duck race was marred when a motorcyclist threatened a resident who was trying to block his path.
