A HUNDRED-year-old woman died five months after a fall left her in need of a hip operation, an inquest heard.
Cecillia Serafini, from Portswood, underwent a hip replacement operation last October, following the fall at her home in Westwood Road, Southampton.
Earlier this month she was diagnosed with an infection in her hip joints. Doctors operated but she died a day later at Southampton General Hospital.
Coroner Keith Wiseman recorded a verdict of accidental death, as the infection was a result of the fall she had last year.
