FOR most people one is more than enough.

But not so for marathon veteran Alan Court, who is set to run his 50th marathon in aid of the Rainbow Centre.

The 49-year-old, of Hedge End, is to take part in the North Dorset Village Marathon on May 4 and is hoping to get round in less than three and a half hours.

Alan is a member of Hedge End and Eastleigh Running Clubs and has run the London Marathon a staggering 21 times, having taken up running in 1987.

When he heard about the Rainbow Centre’s plight he could not help but be touched by it. His own son Daniel, 19, suffers with dyspraxia, a disability that can affect movement and coordination, so he says he can appreciate what it is like for other parents who have children with disabilities.

He said: “They do a marvellous job at the Rainbow Centre.”
