More than 100 guests donned their glad rags for the 3rd Romsey Scout Group gala dinner and dance at Romsey Town Hall.

The event, the first of its kind, raised more than £1,000 for the Timsbury-based Scout group which will be spend the cash on this year’s carnival entry and camping and activity equipment.

Last year, the Cubs and Scouts made go-carts for the procession and their entry was highly commended. The Cubs and Scouts also gained their DIY badge making the go-carts, which were used later at camp.

Decorations for the event were organised and designed by Fiona Smith and Photoflair took photos on the evening.

Many businesses donated high-quality prizes which ensured the raffle was extremely well supported. The group is planning to expand its age range by opening a Beaver colony, for six to eight-year-olds. For more details visit 3rdromseyscouts.org.uk.
