A JUDGE adjourned sentence on a Southampton man so that he could get a lawyer to defend him, as he was considering sending him to jail.
Recorder Ben Compton heard that Jason Page was spotted driving in Hamble Lane by a police officer who knew that he was disqualified.
Prosecutor Tom Wright told the city Crown Court: “He has a significant number of convictions for similar offences over the years.”
Page, 27, of Spring Road, Sholing, admitted driving while banned, which put him in breach of a suspended sentence for receiving clothing stolen from Debenhams.
“It is vital you have legal representation,” said the judge, bailing Page until June 9.
