IT IS the best birthday present they could ask for.

The Winchester and Eastleigh branch of home care provider Bluebird Care celebrated its second birthday with a glowing report from health watchdog the Care Quality Commission.

An inspection took place at its Winnall office in Winchester and the service met every standard on the CQC assessment.

Owner and director Claire Murphy said: “We are delighted to have met all the standards the CQC have assessed us against and over the moon to receive such fabulous compliments from our customers – it really was the best birthday present we could have asked for.

“Our aim now is to get the same results at our next anniversary and every year thereafter.”

Her husband and branch managing director Norman added: “In our two short years of operation we have delivered over 82,000 care visits.

“We are truly delighted to help people live in the homes they love surrounded by their family and friends and are really proud of our whole team who work tirelessly throughout the year in all weather conditions to take the best care of our customers.”

Mr Murphy confirmed that the branch is looking for new recruits and hopes to create 40 more jobs by the end of the year.

A second office has been opened in Alton.
