TWO of Hampshire’s leading citizens had a go at baking cakes during birthday celebrations at one of the county’s biggest stores.
The mayor of Southampton, Cllr Ivan White, and his Eastleigh counterpart, Cllr Malcolm Cross, were invited to see the workings of the in-store bakery at the Sainsbury’s store in Hedge End.
They tried their hand at making jam doughnuts and other cakes during their visit, part of nationwide celebrations to mark the 145th anniversary of the Sainsbury’s brand.
