IT looks like a car showroom for multi-millionaires.
Television star Chris Evans has transformed the grounds of a Hampshire hotel by unveiling his ‘Dirty Dozen’ – seven Ferraris and a group of other expensive vehicles dubbed the Famous Five.
The gleaming collection has gone on display at the award-winning Chewton Glen Hotel in New Milton.
They are taking part in the annual Chris Evans Magnificent Seven and Famous Five Drive and Dine, which each year raises about £1m for the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
The cars arrived yesterday afternoon and will be exhibited on the croquet lawn while the drivers enjoy a two-night stay at the luxury hotel before continuing their journey to historic Cliveden House in Berkshire.
A hotel spokesman said: “This is the sixth year that we have supported Chris Evans’ fundraising efforts for Children in Need.
“We will be hosting a programme of activities for the drivers during their stay.”
Chris presents BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show, which will be broadcast live from Chewton Glen today and tomorrow.
The 48-year-old broadcaster and DJ has close links with the New Forest and often stays at the hotel. As reported in the Daily Echo, he has recently gone into partnership with Rob Smith, who runs the Haven restaurant in Lymington.
