ONE of Southampton’s busiest roads will be shut overnight for four nights because of roadworks.
Thomas Lewis Way, which helps link the city to the M27, will be closed from 7pm through to 6am from July 7-10.
It comes just a week after another of the city’s major arteries, The Avenue, was closed for resurfacing.
The roadworks will see the road being closed between the junctions with Stoneham Way and Mayfield Road.
That will not be the end of the disruption, as from July 10-16, Thomas Lewis Way will be closed between the junctions with St Denys Road and Dukes Road, between 7pm and 6am.
A spokesperson for Southampton City Council said: “The work on Thomas Lewis Way is part of a programme of structural patching, so rather than repairing individual defects and potholes we resurface an area of road.”
