All emergency services were called to the scene and the road was closed whilst paramedics treated a casualty.

One man, believed to be elderly, was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The road remained closed whilst police investigated the scene and the wreckage was cleared.

It says a 5 vehicle shunt.... just because they show a picture of one of the vehicles involved doesn't mean it's the fault of that particular driver.

What about the Vauxhall Zafira? Who knows? I certainly don't and I don't think you do either.

And have you ever thought it might be your own driving style which is why you're nearly involved in a crash on so many occasions?

Yea! Right...and it's silver...I'm sick of it always being silver cars causing crashes, every person who drives a silver car is an arrogant knob.

The BMW driver who "drove like he owned the road" was infact having a heart attack. The accident could have been much worse, especially if he had hit one of the numerous pedestrians on the pavements at the time.

Lucklly there were no other serious injuries.

Good news assuming the BMW driver survived his heart attack. Something like that whatever make or colour of car we can never be fully prepared for.

Yes but you're probably best keeping your gob shut sometimes as it tends to make you look a d1ckhead when someone points out he had a heart attack at the wheel

No one knows when ones heart will fail them. It's a chance every driver takes wen driving. Most cars can be repaired as a drivers insurance can pick up the tab. Good Luck to all!

Sorry to be a pedant but found the claim that BMW 3 series being biggest selling car in UK hard to believe - a quick search of the internet revealed in 2013 it was 8th (24,658 sales) with the Fiesta coming top (72,129) - so if there are lot more BMWs in crashes compared to say Fiestas or Ford Focuses then perhaps it is to do with BMW drivers - but don't have the numbers so wouldn't make spurious claims
