SAINTS legend Lawrie McMenemy supported an event that aimed to raise awareness of poverty.
Those taking part walked two miles, collected a gallon of water and then trekked back to their starting point.
Organiser Kerry Turner said: “The average distance a person in a poor sanitation area needs to walk for their water each day is 3.72 miles.
“But Walk for Survival was not just about the physical act of collecting water.
“It signified the journey people face on a daily basis, such as a homeless person living in squalor but coming out of it the other end with the right support, and the person who needs to go to a foodbank when they’re made redundant.”
