VANDALS caused £45,000 worth of damage to dozens of new cars parked up in Hampshire.

Now police officers are appealing for members of the public to come forward in the hope they can help them piece together what happened.

It happened just after midnight on Saturday at the Budget/Avis car hire site on Southampton Road in Eastleigh.

Thirty cars were keyed and had their tyres slashed. Around £45,000 of damage was caused to vehicles including BMWs, Peugeots, and Vauxhalls.

Detectives are especially keen to speak to two men that were seen in the area at the time.

The first man is described as white, around 21-years-old, wearing a white t-shirt with a logo on the front and blue jeans. He was slim and around 5ft 10ins tall with short light coloured hair and was carrying a carrier bag.

The second man is also described as white, around 20-years-old, wearing a navy t-shirt, dark jeans and a rucksack. He was slim and around 6ft tall and he had brown short untidy hair.
