THESE teenagers are literally jumping for joy having raised thousands of pounds for a little boy who has defied the odds to survive.
Chloe Shannon helped organise a fundraising event in honour of four-year-old Tarun Chung, a family friend battling a rare genetic condition that causes abnormal development of many parts of the body, as well as leukaemia.
The 16-year-old from Woolston teamed up with 12 other youngsters to hold the event at Norman Court School in Chilworth as part of their National Citizen Service certificate, a scheme which helps 15 to 17-year-olds build confidence and skills by taking part in team-building activities, holding workshops at schools and supporting the community.
More than 50 people attended the event, which included live music, competitions, raffles and a barbecue.
The day raised £2,000 for Tarun. It will be used to buy sensory equipment and two special suits so that he can have a bath and to help him take his medicines.
