THOUSANDS of people in Hampshire have to wait more than a week to see their GP, while many are unable to get an appointment at all, new figures have revealed.

An official NHS report shows that 17 per cent of Southampton residents surveyed about waiting times had to wait seven days or more for an appointment.

Nearly a quarter (23 per cent) of people in Fareham and Gosport said they had to wait seven days or more to see their GP.

Of the 4,159 people surveyed, 11 per cent were unable to get an appointment at all. And of the 3,456 people who were able to get an appointment in Southampton, 692 (17 per cent) said it took a week or longer to see their GP – slightly above the national average of 16 per cent.

Reasons included not being able to book a preferred day or not being able to see a preferred GP.

Overall 13 per cent of people in Southampton said they had either a poor or very poor experience of making an appointment with a GP.

Ten per cent of people said they would not recommend their surgery to friends or family, as opposed to 42 per cent who said they definitely would and 33 per cent who said they probably would.

Robbie Robinson, who lives in Bitterne Park and is chairman of the Southampton Pensioners’ Forum, said: “When I want to see a doctor I will have to wait anything from a week to 14 days.

“It’s become harder over the past three or four years, most of the surgeries are full up.

Solution “The solution I think is to open the surgeries up later in the night. I get a good service, but I do have to wait |my turn.”

A spokesman for NHS England (Wessex), which commissions GP services across Hampshire, said it recognised some people reported a “poorer experience” in getting appointments and said it was working to improve residents’ access to service.

The spokesman added: “We are greatly encouraged that local residents in Southampton, and Fareham and Gosport have reported positive scores of over 80 per cent for overall experience at their local GP practice, but more can be done.

“All practices offer patients the opportunity to take up urgent on the day appointments.

“Some patients may choose to wait longer to see the GP of their choice or secure an appointment time which is suitable for them and fits in with their own busy lives.

“We will be working with the CCGs, the practices and their patient participation groups to consider the results of the recent survey and identify the improvements which can be made.”

I tried that last week at my doctor's surgery and there were none available. I ended up at the Bitterne walk-in centre instead, where there are no GPs, just nurses.

The adverse effects of immigration.
Last week I rang to make a doctors appointment. I got 'Sorry not possible today.'
Never used to be like that. I resent this kind of thing.
And why shouldn't I be able to resent such things without being called a racist?
I resent housing shortages. I resent the social housing queue now being 8+ years in Southampton. I resent more traffic congestion, More noise, more pollution.

Even immigrants are tired of immigration
Asians no longer send their children to the local school St Marks in Southampton, because they want their children to learn English rather than Polish, Romanian, Hungarian etc!
They have classes where only 4 children are English!
My friend wouldn't send his child there. He paid for her to go to St Winifreds private school instead and he's half Polish!
His father came here from Poland in the 60's!

Every other name on Southampton Maternity unit cots is East European.
Locals can't get their kids into their nearest school.
Even if they can it's full of kids that can't speak English properly.
The General hospital has had to ask for more funding for the hepatobiliary liver service due to Vodka usage by our friends from the East.

I was speaking to Pole the other day at 11am.
I asked him how come you're not at work?
He replied he 'Couldn't get any more chef work here'
I said will you be going back to Poland then?
He replied 'No I steel beetar off here' !
On the dole !
So having worked for a short while on min wage having paid next to no tax or NI he can spend years here on the dole if he chooses at our expense!
Open borders are the equivalent of taking the locks of your front door!

Under EU dictat XYZ retired East Europeans that have been here a year are entitled to their £120 a month pension topped up to around £500 a month UK pension paid for by us. We pay NI for 40 years to get a UK pension. They pay for 0 years!

Southampton General Hospital have had to put extra operating theatres in portakabins on the roof of the 6 storey main block to accomodate all the extra patients due to mass immigration. They've had to buy motorised beds to get them up the slope it's so steep & it takes three members of staff to push the anaesthetic trolleys up there. All due to mass immigration.

My mother ln law's in a rest home. Some staff are East European. She's hard of hearing & can't understand their poor English.

I was chatting to a Hungarian girl recently who served me in Pizzaexpress. A charming girl. I asked her what has the EU done for her and her country?
She replied - 'It's given her the opportunity to leave'
I said would she ever go back to Hungary. She replied 'No'
So countries less densely populated than here to start with are losing their youth & people of working age.
Their demographic screwed & ours!

I bought a 2 flat that had had 6 Lithuanians living in.
The new working class living like this with almost no overheads so undercutting wages for locals & driving down living standards for people with mortgages to pay & making slumlords & min wage employers richer.
EU = Capitalist's dream brought to you courtesy of the left.

Because these people are squashed into flats with no gardens in numbers the flats weren't designed to take, Southampton Common becomes their garden in summer. Drunken Poles on Lidls Vodka having BBQ's burning the grass. Feeling like I'm not in England any more in the common I grew up playing in. It makes me sick.
People I know have anti social unemployed Poles next to them. So whilst many Poles might be hard working, we're also importing a lot of dross, as if we don't already have enough of our own!

I recently spoke to a chap who's rather upset. He said the council just announced that the lovely council run rest home he put his mum into a month ago is closing so they can knock it down to build houses. The old folk will be going into private rest homes subsidised by the council. So the council get a windfall of capital, but rest home care will cost them more in the long run.
So why is this happening?
So the council meet their quota of 16000 homes to be built in the Southampton area. Why so many homes needed?
Thanks to open borders & millions of East Europeans coming here.

The White Swan pub beside the river Itchen has had to put a flood barrier up so you can't see the river if your sitting down outside. This is becuase of water meadows & flood planes being built on. Same ref Romsey pond & fish centre ironically getting flooded more often due to houses on water meadows.

Slowly our country side is being detsroyed to build homes for people we don't need, don't want & never voted in favour of being here.

Pro-immigration people often say that migrant workers pay into the system. I've worked with loads of migrant workers and every one of them was on minimum wage. On minimum wage you pay very very little tax or National Insurance, and yet you get Working Tax Credits, help with housing costs, NHS treatment, etc. If you have kids you get far more on top.

Spot on. Only slumlords & low wage employers benefit from all this unskilled low paid immigrant labour force. The rest of us are piggy in the middle suffering the effects of overpopulation.

Why vote FibDemLabCon when you get this;

Liberal Democrats - The party of liberty, democracy and equality who are anti having the liberty to decide on Europe via a referendum and anti democracy in being EUrophiles. Pro equality yet they want to treat EU citizens preferentially!
But that's the opposite of liberty and democracy & equality isn't it?
LibDems the Party for people that don't believe in liberty, democracy or equality

Labour - Anti referendum, pro EU and pro immigration.
Result = Mass immigration of cheap labour driving down wages, taking jobs, taking homes, making more traffic congestion and making slumlords & low wage payers richer.
But that's the opposite of Socialism isn't it?
Labour the party for seriously deluded people!

Tories - The party of small government most of whom are EUrophiles meaning gigantic bloated centralised EU government that's ballooning out of control.
But that's the opposite of Conservatism isn't it?
Conservatives in reality the party for People that need to vote UKIP if they are conservative

Vote for the three main parties and get the opposite of what you want!

Why vote for UKIP they only offer the same as the Tory's, Lib/Dem, Labour and the Greens. More privatisation selling off public assets to the few, taxing the poor more while letting the more wealthy pay less tax, higher unemployment.
But then again I not surpise at there policy as UKIP members are ex-Tory party members, Even Farage is an Ex-Tory party member and an exfinancier/Banker him self

The rest of us are piggy in the middle suffering the effects of overpopulation. Why vote FibDemLabCon when you get this; Liberal Democrats - The party of liberty, democracy and equality who are anti having the liberty to decide on Europe via a referendum and anti democracy in being EUrophiles. Pro equality yet they want to treat EU citizens preferentially! But that's the opposite of liberty and democracy & equality isn't it? I tried that last week at my doctor's surgery and there were none available. I ended up at the Bitterne walk-in centre instead, where there are no GPs, just nurses.
A&E minor injuries unit at south hants
No. There are no doctors there either. I checked.

0ne thing that might help is people actually keeping their appointments when they are given one. I was at my surgery recently and three people didnt turn up which there is no excuse for, surely they know how to use the phone if they dont need to keep their appointments
