A NEW online business in Hampshire that aims to revolutionise the way we do our weekly shop has been given a cash boost.

The founders of local online grocery firm Parsly, celebrated after receiving a £500 Business Incentive Grant from Test Valley Borough Council in recognition of their work in setting up the company.

Run by Simon Edwards and Robin Bilgil, the pair set up the business at the University of Southampton Science Park, in Chilworth, promising “stressfree”

food shopping.

So far the council has helped more than 400 new companies through the grant scheme, which has helped see the authority established as “business friendly” by the Federation of Small Businesses.

Mr Edwards, from Parsly, said: “Parsly is a super-simple new way to buy groceries. You can add a recipe to your weekly shop, then send a shopping list straight to your phone, or send the whole order straight to selected supermarkets.”

Councillor Alison Finlay, who presented Simon and Robin with a cheque for £500, said: “It requires a lot of hard work and commitment to set up a company but there is support out there.”
