A SERIES of roadshows will take place over the next two months to show the work being carried out by the NHS in Hampshire.

The Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will hold four roadshows in September and October after its annual meeting on September 9.

The meeting will be held at The Ark Conference Centre at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and will begin with an interactive exhibition from 5.30pm and 6.30pm. Visitors will be able to test their hand hygiene, find out how hospital food menus are devised and use one of the new reminiscence pods, which assist with the care of patients with dementia.

Other stands will address women’s health, cancer services plus what it is like to work in the county’s hospitals.

The formal meeting will begin at 6.45pm and will include a review of the past year and an update on the trust’s plans to centralise care of the sickest patients and create sustainable local hospital services for the future.

The roadshows will be held at Alton Maltings Centre on September 23, Winchester Guildhall on September 30, Fleming Park Leisure Centre in Eastleigh on October 14 and The Lights in Andover on October 21.

Hampshire Hospitals chief executive Mary Edwards, pictured, said: “With patient care at the heart of all we do our aim is to offer services and care as close to peoples’ homes as p o s s i b l e and to centralise where necessary for patient safety.

“I am really looking forward to sharing how we have achieved this and other developments over the past year and to spending some time discussing our future plans.

“If you are able to attend the AGM I know you will also find the exhibition that our staff gave up their time to produce very informative and interesting.

“If you can’t make the AGM we look forward to seeing you when we come to your area in September or October.”
