A TEENAGER agreed to drive her friend to the shops despite drinking alcohol and not having a licence, a court was told.
When police stopped the Renault Clio that Chantell Gardner was driving in Hedge End retail park she was still wearing a onesie, magistrates heard.
Police were called on January 18 to reports that a similar vehicle had been involved in an accident.
Prosecutor Jason Spelman described how police found Gardner at the wheel of the Clio and a breath test recorded 54mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – the legal limit is 35.
She was also found to only hold a provisional licence and was not insured.
Gardiner, 18, of The Haven Eastleigh, admitted driving with excess alcohol, driving without a licence and insurance. She was fined £120, with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge fee and disqualified from driving for 14 months.
