A MAN has been arrested after a woman was “punched in the face” at a pub.

Police were called to the Crown Tap pub in Ringwood, just before midnight on Saturday following reports of an assault and criminal damage.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said the victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the incident.

One of the pub’s windows had been smashed prior to officers arriving at the scene, the spokesperson added.

A 35-year-old man from Ringwood was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and common assault.

He has been bailed until February 26.
