POLICE have launched an appeal after a woman was seriously injured in a collision on the Isle of Wight.
A Wootton woman was taken to St Mary’s Hospital with leg, arm and shoulder fractures.
The 59-year-old pedestrian, from Wootton, was hit by a silver Toyota Avensis in High Street, Wootton just before 8.40 am last Friday.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Sandown, was not injured in the collision.
PC Dominic Green said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, particularly the driver of a car-derived van that passed the scene within seconds of the incident.”
