YOUNG people will learn how to get into the legal profession at a workshop being held by Southampton Solent University at its conference centre in Above Bar from 1pm to 6.30pm today.

Southampton Solent University is holding the law workshop from 1-6.30pm at its Conference Centre in Above Bar Street.

The workshop, which marks National Apprentice-ship Week, offers youngsters advice on apprenticeships being run by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx).

They offer an alternative route into the profession without having to study for the traditional university degree.

The workshop is led by CILEx regional development officer Neal Costen.

He said: “There are common misconceptions that you need to go to university to become a lawyer.

“But our qualifications offer a flexible and affordable alternative.”
