FOR most teenagers image is a big part of day to day life.

But for Harry Smith, 18, his appearance took a back seat when he decided to shave all his hair off for Cancer Research UK.

However, Harry was in the safe hands of his dad, Andy Smith who owns The Barber Shop in Shirley.

Since losing close family friend, Sally Green to cancer more than ten years ago Harry has treated Cancer Research UK as his number one charity.

So when his girlfriend Eliza teased him for caring too much about his hair, Harry decided to chop it off and has raised £500 so far.

The young carpenter said: “I was so nervous but I’m on top of the world about it now. I wish more people my age would do this, people always says they want to change the world but they don’t.

“It’s a big thing for someone my age to do something like this but there are teenagers like me going through chemotherapy and I wanted to do something to help them.”
