COUNCIL workers have said their farewells to their old headquarters.
The last workers packed up and left Eastleigh Borough Council’s civic offices in Leigh Road yesterday in favour of a new £12million site in the town centre.
Workers have moved into the smaller venue in the last few days.
The newly refurbished Eastleigh House, in Upper Market Street, will open at 8.30am on Monday.
However, all contact details including telephone numbers will remain unchanged.
The new venue does not have a council chamber so full council meetings will be held at various venues around the borough.
Council leader Keith House said Eastleigh House would save money.
“It’s been the council’s long-term vision to move closer to the town centre to better serve our residents at a more accessible site, where people will find it easier to reach us.”
