RUNNERS near Winchester are preparing for a ten-kilometre charity race.

This year’s Ropley 10k Road Race, which is expecting to see up to 400 entrants, will see both fun and serious runners take part – all in aid of supporting the village’s facilities and school.

Starting from St Peter’s Church in the heart of Ropley, the route takes in the local countryside, and is sure to test participants’ stamina.

It also includes chip timing, free T-shirts for pre-entrants, fruit and bottled water at the end, a three kilometre course for nine to 14-year-olds, and 100 and 50-metre dashes for younger children.
