MEMBERS of Compton and Shawford Parish Council have voted in favour of Winchester City Council’s proposals to change the electoral cycle.
Currently one third of councillors are elected for a four-year term of office but the proposal will see these replaced with a single election every four years.
It is hoped the move will combat “voter fatigue”.
