A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious leg and arms injuries after being colliding with a car in Southampton.

The 53-year-old was riding his motorcycle along First Avenue, near Dock Gate 20, when he crashed with a white Ford car, just after 10.30pm.

The driver of the car fled the scene and officers are now appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward and help them piece together what happened.

The motorcyclist was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

PC Steve Antrobus from Totton Roads Policing Unit said: “Did you see a white Ford estate-possibly a Focus driving erratically in the Shirley area on Monday night?”

A 46-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and failure to stop at the scene of a road traffic accident and bailed until June 17.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened on Sunday night, should contact PC Antrobus, at Totton, on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
