POLICE are hunting two men who attacked a cyclist with a metal pole along a Hampshire cycle track.
The 23-year-old was knocked from his bike and assaulted by two unknown men as he cycled south of Cambridge Road, Gosport.
He was punched and hit with the metal pole, leaving him with serious injuries consistent with grievous bodily harm.
Detective Constable Debbie Barron said: “We think this was a targeted attack and not random.
“I am appealing for witnesses who may have seen what happened. It’s likely there would have been other people around at the time of day it happened.”
Anyone with information about the attack, which happened between noon and 12.40pm on May 8, should contact Fareham CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
