A WOMAN had to be rescued after getting stuck in mud.
Firefighters had to call in the Solent Coastguard to help the woman who had become stuck in the riverbank at Newport after the tide went out at around 6.30pm yesterday.
Two coastguard teams from Ventnor were deployed to the woman, and assisted firefighters to get the woman onto solid ground.
She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight.
