FROM football to fashion, it seems there’s nothing Adam Lallana can’t do as he adds modelling to his list of talents.

The Southampton captain, who was named in Roy Hodgson’s England World Cup squad earlier this month, has been revealed as the new face of French Connection’s pre-autumn collection.

Dad-of-one Adam, who married his fiancée Emily six months early in a bid to avoid a World Cup clash, was chosen by the High Street brand for his clean-cut image.

The modelling deal comes after a very successful season for club and country

The 26-year-old is currently in Portugal with the rest of the England squad, including fellow Saints Luke Shaw and Rickie Lambert, for a pre-World Cup training session.

Named Saints player of the year and linked with a £20m bid from Liverpool, the midfielder is expected to play a leading role when England take on Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica in Brazil next month.

A spokesman for French Connection said: “Adam is one of the country’s most exciting footballing talents, combined with his dedication, drive and commitment to his profession and his duties as a father.

“French Connection feels Adam is the perfect brand fit and a key ambassador for the pre-fall launch.”

The new collection sees French Connection source fabrics from premium Italian mills used by luxury fashion houses all over the world.

Daily Echo:

“The focus on the quality of textiles gives a sense of richness as tweeds, cashmeres, meltons and lambswools combine in a collection of heritage pieces for the modern world. Adam too reflects this – as a player his mix of spectacular skill and hard work is a contemporary combination while off the pitch his devotion to his family and low-key lifestyle is almost old-school and something from a bygone age in football.”

The collection is available in store now.

It is not the first time the footballer has put his modelling skills to the test.

Last year he hit the catwalk at the Concorde Club in Eastleigh in a fashion show organised by ex-Saint James Beattie’s wife Sarah and her model agency business partner Kelly-Anne Morgan, to raise cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
