Police have this afternoon named the woman who was found dead on a busy Hampshire road.

The body of 48-year-old Louise Malins was found by officers at 3.15am on Friday following a call from a driver.

Louise, from Horndean, was discovered on the Northbound carriageway near Clanfield, Waterlooville.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the woman's death, which is not being treated as suspicious.

A number of motorists who had traveled on the A3 Northbound in the early hours of Friday morning have already been spoken to. However, officers are keen to speak to anyone else who may have been driving on the road between 2.30am and 3.30am o and believes they saw or hit something in the carriageway.
