POLICE are investigating after a mobile phone was held under an 11-year-old girl’s changing cubicle at a Hampshire leisure centre.

The youngster reported what police described as a “suspicious incident”, in which she said she saw a hand holding the Apple iPhone appear.

She also heard people laughing during the incident at Gosport Leisure Centre.

The mobile phone had a distinctive orange case with a black smiley face on the top right hand corner.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 3.30pm and 3.55pm last Wednesday.

Investigating officer PC David Terrett said: “I’m keen to establish exactly what happened and speak to anyone else who may have been using the swimming pool changing rooms at the time.

“They may have noticed this distinctive phone case and who was in possession of it.”

Call PC David Terrett at Fareham police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
