PUPILS at Hampshire Collegiate Prep School in Romsey have been pacing their school grounds to support youngsters with heart conditions.

Children and teachers challenged themselves to walk as many laps of their grounds as they could to raise money for the Daily Echo-backed Wessex Heartbeat High 5 Appeal.

After the High 5 Appeal hit its £500,000 fundraising target, work on a new ward at Southampton General Hospital for 16 to 30-year-old cardiac patients will start later this year.

The money raised by the children will help to fill the unit with everything patients need to get well enough to go home.
