A HAMPSHIRE student will be cycling on the spot for eight hours this Saturday to try to raise more money towards a trip volunteering overseas.

Tazmin Hollands, 15, will be travelling as a volunteer on a Camps International project for a month next summer, working with other students and living as part of the rural community in Beng Mealea near Siem Reap in Cambodia.

The students will be in very basic accommodation and taking part in a number of environmental, conservation and community projects, which Tazmin hopes will make a real difference to the people in Cambodia as well as being a life changing experience.

A student at The Burgate School, Fordingbridge, she has to self-fund the trip, which is going to cost about £4,200 and so far she has done a baked bean bath, a cake sale, bag- packing and a fashion show, raising £1,230.

This Saturday Tazmin and her friend Chloe Hesford will be doing a static cycle ride outside Sainsbury's in Ringwood from 9am until 5pm.
