The 'Hampshire ring' and beautiful weather, it's never going to end well. I hope all involved are okay.

There is nothing wrong with the A272 It's the idiot car drivers and bikers who use it as a race track that is the problem.

absolutely, that and the a32 seem to be used as a racetrack by bab's (born again bikers) i travel it frequently in my not so fast car , i've lost count of the times i've had to slow down to avoid a head on collision with oncoming bikers on my side of the road. the police don't seem to show much interest in having mobile speed cameras , much easier to catch some motorist who might be 5 mph over the speed limit than a biker 20 mph plus.i write as a motorcyclist and car driver

All roads are dangerous. It's up to the drivers to drive safely taking account of road, visibility and conditions. Vauxhall Corsa, often driven by young inexperienced drivers and big fast bike are not a good combination.

Car stopped in the road turning into the Car Park at the top of the hill, biker hit the back of the car, bike slid across the road onto the verge.

I was riding a bike, loads out yesterday, thing about the A272 it's a busy road, loads of blind bends and turnings, it should be ridden/driven as such.

If anyone knows him, I hope he's ok, Policeman on the scene said it was too early to tell.

Living at that end of Winchester, at weekends we get woken up from 6.00 with bikes coming down that road. You hear them slow down, then turn left onto the Chilcombe road, upto the roundabout and then turn right onto the spitfire link. Just by the noise, you can tell they're opening the throttle and not keeping to the speed limit. Hope they make a quick recovery.

Why does everyone always blame bikes for the a272's problems? I drive the a272 daily and live in the area, although I'm not a biker I will agree that there are alot of idiot bikers using the road but you only need to sit in the meon hut garden and watch, to realise that there are just as many idiots in flash cars or halfords special shed cars flying up and down the a272 and a32 as bikers, actually I'd have to say that on a weekday evening there is more halfords specials than anything flying up and down those roads.

I was the one that called the police and helped the chap involved. FYI he appeared to be injured but not critical. Air ambulance was on the scene within 20 minutes, ambulance within 10 minutes, fantastic service. Just glad that I was able to help as much as I could (I had just completed my first aid training). All I know was the person was called Danny. Danny good luck, we hope you are doing well.
