A MAN is due in court today after being charged with the murder of a Hampshire pensioner.

Paul Humphries from Morris Road, in Southampton, will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court this morning.

The 35-year-old was one of four people who were arrested after John Willdig was found collapsed in a Southampton road.

The post-mortem examination has revealed that the cause of death was multiple stab wounds.

A 69-year-old woman arrested as part of the investigation remains on police bail.

No further action is being taken against two men, aged 43 and 53 from Southampton who were also arrested.

Meanwhile, a cordon remained in place around a property on Morris Road at the centre of the investigation where the incident is thought to have taken place.
