A YOUNG girl from Southampton has bagged 100 dance trophies at the age of just five.

Lacey-Paige Gascoigne has dancing her way to the top at an international competition.

The five-year-old from Thornhill was born to dance and travels across the country to win title upon title in her speciality – freestyle disco.

Her most recent triumph saw the Weston Shore Infant School pupil come first in the under-six international Dancer of Dancers category at the World Championships at Blackpool Winter Gardens, as well as fourth in under-six street dance and sixth in under-six slow dance.

Lacey-Paige shows off her amazing haul of trophies.

With a mother and father who met while competing as dancers themselves, it’s clear that dancing is in the blood.

Kirsty Gascoigne, 25, has been busy taking her daughter to competitions since she started at Chantelle’ School of Dancing in Hythe at the age of three.

Alongside husband Gavin, 30, who runs a bed store in Hedge End, the couple are extremely proud of what they hope will be a fruitful career for their little girl.

Kirsty said: “We are so proud of her. She has so much energy and I don’t think I have ever seen her dance so well as when we were at Blackpool.

“This is her dream, she is so passionate about it. I look away for a few seconds and turn back and she’s in a handstand or doing the splits in the middle of a shop. She was born to do this and it’s amazing to see your child’s dreams coming true.

“These are amazing achievements and I’m sure she is going to keep going on to bigger and better things. It’s just so exciting to see what happens next.”
