IT’S a fun new attraction with a sting in the tail.

Hampshire artist Trudi Lloyd Williams has created a sculpture comprising 120 jellyfish made out of plastic bottles as part of a hard-hitting environmental campaign.

The eye-catching piece at Lepe Country Park is promoting a message from Hampshire and IOW Wildlife Trust highlighting the value of marine creatures and the threat they face from the growing mountain of plastic rubbish in the sea.

A Trust spokesman said: “Plastics make up the majority of litter found on UK beaches. Plastic can be dangerous for marine animals. They can either get tangled up in it or mistake it for food.”

The Trust is urging people to recycle plastic and carry out a ten-minute litter pick every time they visit the coast.

The sculpture will be on show at the country park today and at Lymington’s seawater baths from August 22.
