SOUTHAMPTON churchgoers have raised nearly £5,000 to help people in a poverty-stricken African country stay healthy.
The congregation at the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception in Portswood clubbed together to raise the cash in aid of Isle of Wight charity the Friends of Buburi.
Trustees Jo Hanks and Jackie Hamer gave a short presentation to the church about the developments and plans for a clinic. Friends of Buburi helps the Buburi Health Clinic provide accessible, good quality and affordable health care.
