EMPLOYEES at a Hampshire hotel are celebrating after taking home a number of awards.

Staff at the Holiday Inn at Morn Hill in Winchester were presented with four awards within the space of a week including three from the The Beautiful South Awards.

The four-star hotel was given a silver award in the Access for All Tourism Award, a silver award for Business Tourism and a bronze award for Sustainable Tourism.

Its final accolade was the Energy Award in the People, Environment a n d Achievement Awards (PEA Awards) at a recent ceremony held in London. These awards recognise businesses which promote successful approaches to sustainability.

General manager Siobhan Thomasson said: “Our team are thrilled to receive so many awards in such a short space of time. To get three Beautiful South Awards is cause for celebration and then to get an additional PEA environmental award was wonderful. Especially following on from yet another recent award from the Intercontinental Hotels Group Awards, winning the Torchbearer Award which recognises that our hotel achieved excellent standards, based on positive customer feedback for high levels of customer satisfaction.”

“The Access for All Tourism Award is an award we are particularly proud of as a hotel with eight accessible rooms, designed for visitors with disabilities,” she added. “We recently sponsored the Hounds for Heroes charity with accessible accommodation and training facilities for injured veterans and their assistance dogs. Business tourism is also a key part of our business and we are delighted to also be recognised in that category at the awards.”
